Rehabilitates injured muscles

Deep tissue massage is one of the most effective methods of reducing chronic pain, improving joint mobility and restoring normal muscle function. Over a length of time, deep tissue massage treatments can help break up and eventually eradicate scar tissue in and around the muscle, alleviating chronic pain and tension.

Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience chronic pain due to repetitive stress injuries, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained a previous physical injury and that are experiencing pain and limited mobility.

Swedish Massage

Pain management – Increase blood flow – Rehabilitate injured muscles – Increase Flexibility – Decrease Stress – Increase Immune system function

The prevention of stress, stiffness and muscle tension starts with a traditional Swedish massage. The five basic strokes of traditional Swedish massage are: effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration/shaking. This technique increases circulation and flushes metabolic waste from the body. It is the most common form of massage practiced in the United States.

Swedish massage does more than address soreness and stress – it also promotes a general sense of relaxation, balance and well-being

Lymphatic massage

Detoxification – Decreases swelling in the face and extremities, reduces stress, helps with anti-aging – relief of sinusitis, bronchitis, and ear infections – fibromyalgia – Insomnia

The lymph system acts as your personal cleaner as it picks up, filters and cleans fluids, cell wastes, viruses and bacteria. When the lymph system works well, you’ll experience a healthy life and have a strong protection from disease. Meanwhile, you may feel tired and be more prone to colds, infections as well as more serious medical problems when the lymphatic system is blocked.

Through very light pressures in a rhythmic, circular motion, a massage therapist can stimulate the system to work as it is and to help it move the lymph fluids back to the heart.

Prenatal Massage

Modern research is proving that massage can be a very instrumental part of women’s prenatal care.

Our therapists are trained in prenatal massage. We utilize a unique support cushion suitable for any stage of pregnancy and customize each session to your individual needs. Pure essential oils and warm steam towels are included in the session ensuring the ultimate pampering experience for the mother to be!

Massage for people with cancer

As well as improving physical symptoms, some people with cancer say that having a massage:

  • makes them feel whole again
  • helps them to relax
  • helps them share feelings in an informal setting
  • makes them feel more positive about their body
  • rebuilds hope

Research shows that massage of muscle and soft tissue does not spread cancer cells.
