DR. JAY CARLILE

Location: Longview, Washington

Dr. Jay Carlile grew up in Battle Ground, Washington and is the son of 2 retired public-school teachers. He attended Battle Ground High School and graduated in 2004. While at Battle Ground High School he wrestled varsity all four year and was a state champion at 215lbs his senior year. He also won a state title in powerlifting his senior year. Jay was also a two time all American in wrestling while attending Battle Ground High School. During his senior year he suffered multiple back injuries while competing and received chiropractic care, which allowed him to continue to dominate two sports at the same time.

After high school he attended Arizona State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, along with a minor in business. During his time at ASU, he worked at the student recreation center as a personal trainer, where he helped train other athletes along with special populations. He continued to compete in powerlifting and earned a second-place medal at the USA nationals. During his time at ASU, he achieved multiple national records in the squat and bench press lifts.

Unfortunately he was rear ended in two automobile accidents in a few months, during his senior year at ASU. Jay suffered from low back pain, neck whiplash, and neurological weakness in his upper extremity. He then sought chiropractic care from Dr. Willie Kindred for the next six months. During the initial consultation and evaluation Dr. Kindred found that his grip strength had decrease by 50%, and was unable to hold onto a barbell with more than 75lbs. After undergoing treatment for six months which included three or more adjustments a week, along with corrective exercises that improved the stability and curves of the spine Jay was pain free and stronger than ever. That next summer he went on to squat over 900lbs and bench press over 600lbs.

Jay decided then to attend chiropractic school two years after graduating from ASU in 2009. He attended Northwestern Health Sciences University College of Chiropractic. He graduated in 2015; he earned a Bachelor of Science in human Biology as well. During his time at Northwestern he studied multiple chiropractic techniques, including Gonstead, Thompson Terminal Point, and Activator techniques. He also studied several soft tissue manipulation techniques, which includes Active Release Technique, and Graston. What Dr. Jay noticed from his studies was that by relieving stress to the nervous system allowed the body to heal and perform at a higher level.

In his off-time Jay enjoys watching live music and comedy shows. He goes camping with his family on Orcas Island every August and visits friends in Arizona during the winter. Occasionally he likes to enjoy clam digging, fishing, and hunting. He also is a sports fan who loves following sports teams from the Pacific Northwest.

DARRYL COULOMBE, DC

MORGAN RUDDIMAN, DC

Location: Battle Ground WA

My story of becoming a Chiropractor is similar to so many others. When I was training for marathons at 19 years old, I started to develop low back pain from all the miles I was putting in. My basketball coach from 4th grade on was a Chiropractor. I had never been adjusted but knew that Chiropractors could help with pain. I decided to make a visit to his clinic.

After having x-rays taken, I received my first adjustment. I was blown away with the results. My low back pain was gone, but most surprisingly, I found that I could breathe better while running. I have been adjusted weekly ever since.

About a year after my first adjustment I decided I would start the process of getting into Chiropractic school. At the time I was doing pre-requisites at a community college in Albany, OR. I eventually transferred to Oregon State University and studied pre-med. I attended Chiropractic school at Life West Chiropractic in the bay area. During my time at Life West I completed post graduate studies in functional medicine and functional neurology. When I graduated , I was certain that I was going to have a practice specializing in complex neurological cases such as concussion, strokes and autoimmune conditions. As with many of my plans in life the universe had a different idea.

Once I graduated, I moved home to Portland, OR. I was looking forward to getting into practice and helping people. To gain experience, I began working at a practice in Salmon Creek, WA. I still remember the day I interviewed at Bridge Chiropractic. It was a Monday and the days before we had a massive snow storm. I lived in Portland and the practice was in Salmon Creek and driving on the highways was interesting to say the least. I finally arrived at the office and was greeted by a Doctor named Paul Reed. I shadowed him for the morning shift and later went to a seminar he put on that night. I loved the practice and how energetic the clinic felt.

I worked for Bridge Chiropractic and Dr. Paul for 4 years. For about two of the four years I kept telling Dr. Paul that I was going to eventually do functional neurology and functional medicine. Eventually I fell in love with the high energy of the clinic, seeing hundreds of patients a week and helping so many people. I was completely hooked on what is called corrective Chiropractic.

In 2020 Bridge Chiropractic was sold to a company called ChirOne. I took over the Salmon Creek location as the Clinic Director. During my time at ChiroOne the team and I helped thousands of patients with corrective chiropractic. In July I transitioned to Advantage Chiropractic in Battle Ground.

In this next chapter of my Chiropractic life, I am hoping to help thousands more people regain their health and be free of pain. A few factors have shaped the move to Advantage Chiropractic in Battle Ground. The first was the birth of my son in 2021. Becoming a father has brought me a focus in life and my career. I love to adjust and help babies and young children. My fiancé and I recently bought a house in Brush Prairie. We absolutely love the communities in Brush Prairie, Battle Ground and Hockinson. I look forward to building a thriving practice for the community that will help make everyone healthier, happier and pain free.
