ALONA POLECASTRO, ACUPUNCTURIST
I grew up in the northwest and have always loved the outdoors and all the northwest has to offer. As a little girl my dad used to take us on adventures that included fishing, and foraging. This sparked my curiosity well into adulthood.
I have always worked in the health industry, and was in school to become a dentist, but when my own health started to decline, western medicine had nothing to offer me, this started my journey of alternative treatments including herbs, acupuncture, chiropractic and massage. My first acupuncture treatment brought me so much relief that I enrolled in the program the very next fall, as I already had all my prerequisites, and the rest is history.
I graduated in 2000 with a Masters in Acupuncture and Herbal medicine from the Oregon college of Oriental Medicine in Portland Oregon.
I have treated thousands of patients in 25 years, but pain is the number one reason patients seek treatment. Acupuncture and herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years in treatment for everything from digestive issues, to insomnia.
